It was a gloomy
Sunday, and we randomly decided to hit the road and go up to where the wheels
could take us. We left the city proper around half past 10 in the morning, ensuring
we were filled with gas, and had chips, snacks, water and thirst for adventure
in tow.
The trip to
Balamban or anywhere via the trans central highway would not be complete
without the obligatory stop overs for sweetcorn, and other fresh fruits along
the way. We came across a signage of strawberries for sale which we decided to
check it out as well. We had a good deal with the tiny sweet red berries and a
treat for a picture taking in their humble strawberry farm.
What supposedly was
a 30 – 45 minute road trip to Balamban took more minutes over an hour due to
the impending rain that was threatening to fall anytime soon. Just a few
minutes after the “Welcome to Balamban” signage we saw West 35’s entrance and
decided to go in so we could have our late lunch as well.
The children’s
playground made up for the disappointment we had earlier with our food. It was
clean, safe and fun. Tires and ropes were a staple in the playground. Good
venues for urbanized kids to simply enjoy, get dirty, get wet and run around
freely.
Hitting the road is
another alternative on how to spend a lazy weekend with your family. We are so
blessed that our mountains are accessible for us to take a short break from the
hustle bustle of the city.
Stick around, take a deep
breath, enjoy the fresh air, until the next plotted junket.
